Where is Fiji Located?
Fiji officially named the Republic of Fiji is an island nation in Melanesia in the South Pacific Ocean about 1,100 nautical miles northeast of New Zealand’s North Island, exactly located in the Southwest Pacific, South of the Equator. Fiji consists of 330 islands most of them are being left as natural reserves, and only about one hundred of them are inhabited. Another option is to stay on an outer island like the Mamanucas, the Yasawas, or the Northern islands of Vanau Levu or Tavenui.
Fiji’s closest neighbours are Vanuatu to the west, New Caledonia to the southwest, Kermadec to the southeast, Tonga to the east, the Samoas, Wallis and Futuna to the northeast, and Tuvalu to the north. Fiji has a very small population which is mostly concentrated in the continent/region of Oceania. The biggest cities and towns are Arua, Au Soso, Bega and Andako.
