Aruba is a 33 km-long island of the Lesser Antilles in the southern Caribbean Sea, it is located 27 km north of the coast of Venezuela and approximately 130 km east of Guajira Peninsula in Colombia. Even though Aruba is a small country, it is densely populated, 101,484 according to the 2010 census.
The biggest cities and towns in Aruba include Oranjestad, Balashi, Babijn and Barcelona. It is said that on a clear day you can see the Venezuelan mainland from the south-eastern coast. Together with Bonaire and Curaçao, it forms a group referred to as the ABC islands of the Leeward Antilles, the southern island chain of the Lesser Antilles.
